Description

Hi everyone! I made this as a gift for the wonderfull community of :iconbagbeans:
Please keep in mind English is not my native language and I have big problems with grammar and spelling in any language anyway, so please be nice about it c:

I would love to see all the plushies made with this pattern!

This pattern is for free! You can find it here sta.sh/2gmhxb1ombv

How to read the pattern pieces:
The big upper number correspond to the tutorial and is used to idetify the single pieces.
The smaller lower number indicates how many pieces of the pattern piece you need. The "/" means the piece needs to be flipped and the "backside" traced
Example: 2/2 means you transfer the piece twice onto the fabric, flip the pattern and transfer it twice again, so in the end you have four pieces drawn on fabric

While it is free to use, there will still be rules!:

Please have some respect for me as an artist
-do not sell the pattern in itself (selling plushies made from the pattern as commissions is ok)
-do not claim to be the creator of the pattern, even after modifying it
-and don't use pictures I made of my work to promote your own plushies

Please respect Griffsnuff, the creator of Bagbeans
Bagbeans are a closed species, that means you can't just create your own. This also goes for sewing them

And last, please respect the Bagbean owners
don't plush a Bagbean that doesn't belong to you, except it is a commission or gift for the owner.

Question and Answer!

I will try and answer upcomming questions, but please, try and find the answer yourself first. dA alone is full of tutorials on how to sew.
Here are some things that could be of interest

Q: How do I make my Beans eyes?
A: There are soooo many ways: mashine embroidery, hand embroidery, applicating, painting, iron-on foil, painted polymere clay, polymere clay, stitching fabric on
Here are some tutorials for you: ThreadSculpting Tutorial by dot-DOLL .DOLL's Hand Embroidery Tutorial by dot-DOLL Iron On Eye Tutorial by Renegar-Kitsune FIMO Eye Tutorial by Renegar-Kitsune How to Make Eyes Out of Felt by callykarishokkaHow to Paint Plushie Eyes by pheleon

Q: How do I get a big colorchange (like Kiona's tail, arms or ears)?
A: Just split the pattern like you did with the inner ears and toes already. It is the same principe. Take a pattern piece, cut it in smaller pieces according to how your Bean is colored and sew them back together.
Or you could sew them on.

Q: How do I get smaller details (like Kiona's spots)?
A: It is a similiar list to the eyes: mashine embroidery, hand embroidery, applicating, painting, air brushing, stitching fabric on

Q: How big is the plushie and how much fabric do I need?
A: The plushie is roughly 20cm high. And would you use only one solid color, you would need only 50cm.

Q: How long does it take to finish it?
A: Truthfully, I have no idea, since I didn't only worked on Kiona alone. I had to sew prototypes, re-do things again and again and also take pictures along the way. I worked on this whole project for five days and spend roughly 40h of workinghours on him.

Q: What material did you use?
A: The fabric is minky. Than I have some regular as well as embroidery thread, which is shiny. The filling is granulate stuffing (this small balls of stuffing)

Q: Can I change the pattern into something else than a Bagbean?
A: Of course, go ahead!

And at the End a personal note c:

I wanted to do something nice for the Bagbean community to show my love for them. Bagbeans mean a lot more to me then just "I like this species", which has a not so happy reason. Going thru my gallery, you will notice I don't have that much to show besides Bagbean art, which only started in June.
The reason for this is relative simple: I suffered from depression for many years, which had sucked my creativity and motivation away and I haven't drawn barely at all thru this time. While I managed to came out of my depression several months ago, my creativity stayed away, and quite frankly, I thought "yep, that's it, I will never be able to draw again like I used to".
And then I fell in love with this wonderfull species and amazing cummunity, and something inside me broke free! I want to draw all day again, I want to draw for myself and for others and I have so many things I want to do, but there is just not enough time in a day to do them all!
This is why I wanted to do something for all of you, and I hope I can spread some plushie fun and love with it! ovo

Would it be okay if used for one-offs or other species?
